The church was built in the XVI century. The works lasted about twenty years and ended in 1596, but it was only in 1605 that it was dedicated to the cult of Our Lady of the Assumption. The Church has a Romanesque style with three naves , bounded by fourteen stone square pillars propping up twelve semicircular arches.
There are many works of art:
Silverware , including the statue of Saint Rocco and the sacred vestments , kept in the sacristy museum , along with the wooden statue of Saint Nicholas bishop.
Inside the Church there are a lot of paintings, two of which are by Onofrio Ferro from Paludi.’
The altar Cross , made of engraven pearl in 1736 for the sanctuary of the “Reforma”, is very important .
