Monsignor Cilento’s chasuble

 Monsignor Cilento’s chasuble

Description

The chasuble is a sort of overall open on the sides and it is put on through the head . It is worn by all the clergy during the eucaristic celebrations and in the processions of the Holy Sacrament. Even canons use it in the solemn Masses at the presence of the Bishop. Monsignor Cilento’s chasuble is made of a red silken cloth with flowery embroideries, galloons made in golden threads and a coat of arms, embroidered in polychromatic silk placed at the centre bottom and belonging to Monsignor Cilento who was bishop of Rossano from 1844 to 1889.
