Saints’ Gradual
Description
Signed R IV, the Saints’ gradual is dated 1614 and it is anonymous. It is made up of 68 sheets and consists of two elements : in sheets 1-2 there is the Holy Cross ( 3rd May or September 14th ), sheets 3- 68 start with Saint Andrew ( November 30th) and end with the Assumption ( August 15th) . the manuscript has three big full page illuminated pictures : Christ who is being lashed , Christ who falls under the cross, the Crucifixion
