Altar Cross
Description
The altar cross in wrought and engraved , in embossed silver very probably was made by silversmith Antonio Torrone in Naples in 1702. It was commissioned by Archbishop Andrea Adeodati, as the work itself testifies, since it contains the punch with the date, the place and the initials of the author , along with the coat of arms of Benedictine Archbishop . The Cross, 195 centimeters tall, belonged to the Cathedral furniture , bought at the very beginning of the XVIII c. by Mons. Adeodati, and it was placed on the high altar of the same church.
