Ostensory known as
Description
The artefact was given by cardinal Bernardino Lopez de Carvajal , archbishop of Rossano from 1508 to 1511. It was made at the beginning of XVI c. in Rome and it expresses the language of the golden art of transition between the late Gothic age and the Renaissance one. In the central part of the ostensory there are some very little reliefs depicting the Virgin with the Holy Child, Saint Peter, Saint Helene and Saint Andrew. Until the very first years of the 90’s of the XXc, the ostensory was still used during the Procession of Corpus Domini.
