Ostensory with the allegory of faith
Description
The ostensory has on the shaft the allegory of faith , a female figure holding a Cross on the left and the Eucharistic cup on the right. At the bottom , on the base , a woman holding an anchor symbolizes Hope, while from the opposite side , Charity, also represented with female features, holds a child. The work made in Naples in 1855, was given to the Virgin Mary, on the occasion of the escaped cholera in Rossano .
